Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Claeva collects, why it is needed, and how your spending, chat, receipt, and billing data are handled.

1. Overview

Claeva is an AI spending tracker. You can create an account, log transactions, set budgets, organize tags and pockets, upload receipt images for AI processing, use text chat or live voice, and subscribe to paid plans.

Claeva does not connect to your bank account and does not sell your transaction history, receipt content, or chat content.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Claeva PWA and related services. By using Claeva, you agree to this policy. If you have questions or requests, contact irfanrosandi@gmail.com.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, authentication provider, Firebase user ID, and account security metadata.
  • Spending data: transaction amounts, currencies, dates, merchants, categories, notes, tags, pockets, budgets, preferences, and derived spending analytics.
  • AI and conversation data: text prompts, assistant responses, generated conversation titles, live voice transcripts, tool results, and AI usage counters.
  • Receipt and camera data: receipt images or camera captures you choose to submit. Images are compressed in your browser and sent for AI processing; Claeva does not require continuous camera access.
  • Billing data: plan, subscription status, Polar customer or subscription identifiers, checkout metadata, and the email needed to start checkout. Claeva does not store full payment card numbers.
  • Device and app data: browser language, theme and currency preferences, local app cache, Firestore offline cache, service-worker cache, IP address, user agent, and technical logs generated by hosting and service providers.

3. How We Use Data

  • Create and secure your account.
  • Store, sync, display, edit, and delete your transactions, budgets, tags, pockets, preferences, and conversations.
  • Process chat, voice, and receipt inputs so AI can log expenses, summarize spending, and answer questions about your data.
  • Compute dashboards, forecasts, recurring patterns, and spending insights.
  • Measure AI usage, enforce plan allowances, and operate free or paid subscriptions.
  • Provide support, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Improve Claeva using aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you.

4. AI Processing and Service Providers

Claeva sends the content needed for AI features to the configured AI providers and gateways. This may include your prompt, recent conversation context, receipt image content, default currency, tags, date context, and transaction data needed to answer your request or run a tool.

  • Google Firebase: Claeva uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and related Google Cloud/Firebase services to authenticate users and store app data. See Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini and AI routing: Claeva uses Gemini-powered AI features for chat, receipt parsing, title generation, and live voice. AI requests may be routed through the configured AI gateway before reaching a model provider. See the Gemini API Additional Terms and Vercel AI Gateway data retention documentation.
  • Polar: paid subscriptions, checkout, billing portal, taxes, invoices, and payment processing are handled through Polar and its payment processors. See Polar Privacy Policy and Polar Checkout Buyer Terms.

Do not submit highly sensitive information that is not needed to track spending. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate, so review any transactions or insights before relying on them.

5. When We Share Data

Claeva shares personal data only as needed to operate the service or as legally required. This includes:

  • Service providers that host, authenticate, store, process AI requests, process payments, or provide operational infrastructure.
  • Legal, safety, or compliance disclosures when required by law, court order, or to protect Claeva, users, or the public.
  • A successor organization if Claeva is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.
  • Other parties when you direct us to share data or give explicit consent.

Claeva does not sell your personal financial data and does not use third-party advertising trackers in the app.

6. Storage, Local Cache, and Security

  • Your account and app data are stored using Firebase and scoped to your Firebase user ID.
  • Firestore and Storage security rules are designed so authenticated users can access only their own user data.
  • Firebase and Google Cloud services provide encryption in transit and at rest for supported services.
  • Claeva uses browser storage for theme, language, currency preferences, offline Firestore cache, and PWA/service-worker cache.
  • No online service can guarantee perfect security. Keep your account credentials safe and sign out on shared devices.

7. Retention and Deletion

Claeva keeps your account data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

  • Transactions, preferences, tags, pockets, and conversations remain until you delete them or request account deletion.
  • Deleted records are removed from active app storage, but backups, provider logs, and payment records may remain for a limited period or as required by law.
  • Billing, tax, invoice, refund, fraud-prevention, and dispute records may be retained by Polar, payment processors, or Claeva as required by law.
  • AI providers and gateways may retain logs according to their own terms, policies, account configuration, and legal requirements.

8. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can edit or delete transactions and conversations in the app where those controls are available.
  • You can update language, currency, theme, profile, budget, tag, and pocket preferences in Settings.
  • You can manage or cancel paid subscriptions through the billing portal when available.
  • You can request access, correction, export, deletion, or other privacy help by emailing irfanrosandi@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
  • You can clear local browser storage or uninstall the PWA, but this may remove local preferences and offline cache without deleting server-side account data.

9. Children

Claeva is not directed to children. Because Claeva includes AI features and financial tracking, you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to use Claeva. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact irfanrosandi@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

Claeva may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate. Continued use of Claeva after an update means the updated policy applies.
